Job Overview

The Operations manager will oversee and manage all operational aspects of the location including safety, fulfillment, equipment preparation/quality control, local logistics/dispatch, shipping and receiving, Inventory control and client services/support. Will be responsible for the communication and final implementation of overall strategy and tasks to the relevant operational departments and managers within the location. Will serve as the primary point of contact between headquarters in CA, and local Nashville team.

Duties and Responsibilities

1) Quality Control (when applicable via position rotations)

  • Thoroughly test & QC all rental inventory to ensure all equipment is at the highest quality possible
  • Monitor and facilitate the disposition of any equipment found to be damaged or in need of repair during the QC process
  • Communicate progress and/or potential issues with immediate supervisors and/or managers
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space

2) Fulfillment (when applicable via position rotations)

a) Inbound-

  • Receive incoming orders and/or transfers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Inspect incoming equipment for damages and process appropriately
  • Communicate any discrepancies to immediate supervisors and/or managers
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space

b) Outbound-

  • Pull, stage and scan outbound orders and/or transfers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Appropriately package and label outbound orders to ensure our clients receive the highest quality product possible
  • Communicate any discrepancies to immediate supervisors and/or managers in a timely manner to ensure on-time departures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space

Qualifications-

  • Previous A/V industry experience is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Technical aptitude as well as computer and/or computer networking skills a plus.
  • Good communication and organizational skills required
  • Ability to self-motivate and adjust to changing priorities as well as a willingness to take ownership of the position
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, attention to detail, level-headed, sense of humor, and a great attitude

Working Conditions-

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends
  • Availability to work overtime during peak seasons
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide exemplary “can do” service for both internal and external clients
  • Standard working shift is 9 hours

Physical Requirements-

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving. Physical activities include using hand tools, bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, climbing stairs, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
  • LED equipment is generally heavy and bulky.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED

Additional Requirements

Occasional night and weekend coverage is required as well as occasionally being on-call. Being on-call requires, at minimum, to be available by phone by way of direct contact or through our answering service to assist Matrix staff and/or customers with after-hours issues. This may also include reporting to the warehouse, if needed, to resolve the issue.
